We are thrilled to welcome re-emergent hand percussionist Osdaniel Flores to Latin Sessions. Ozzy has been signted more and more on stages around town in the last couple of years. Glenn McCormick, seen for years performing everything from rock to hip hop on trumpet and keys, has dedicated himself to Bossa Nova. After last year’s Bossa performance on this stage, he left for Brazil for months of study and immersion. We’re excited to witness Glenn’s Bossa evolution. Neal Chandek, who led the Transfer house band for 12 years until the pandemic, always blew up the last Tuesday in June, the closest Tuesday to his birthday. Although every Tuesday featured spontaneous sit-in musicians and guest singers, Neal’s birthday bash was always a lively full-on jam session. We are resolved to keep this tradition going. Tonight we’re going to honor and celebrate Neal’s accomplishments by being a product of his earthly efforts. We’re going to gather and keep the music going!

This jam will happen outside, weather permitting, and will be anchored by a core trio consisting of Dan Schneck on organ, Paul Silbergleit on guitar, and former Transfer House Band drummer Omar on drums.

Johnny Padilla is back on saxes and flute, merging the sounds of the Caribean with jazz sensibilities with the help of regular collaborators, Pete Billman on guitar and Chris Kringle on bass.
