Martini Jazz Lounge: The Rhythm Club

We’re stoked to welcome The Rhythm Club back to Transfer. Comprised of Milwaukee musical luminaries Robin Pluer, vocals and accordion; Juli Wood, vocals and reeds; Connie Grauer on keys; and Kim Zick on drums, this supergroup got its start at the storied Café Melánge in downtown’s Hotel Wisconsin decades ago. While all of these musicians have maintained active musical careers since that era, The Rhythm Club has only recently reemerged upon the scene, bringing their own upbeat melánge of styles to tonight’s Martini Jazz Lounge.

If it’s a 1st or 3rd Tuesday, you know what time it is: another installment of The Cameron Webb Organ Trio.

For a young man, Cameron has an old, wise, and soulful feel. He’s only been at it for a decade, working rooms from Chicago to Vegas. We’re lucky that Cam currently calls Milwaukee home, so for the time being, we get to witness his powerful and awe-inspiring voice and presence, as he hones those keyboard licks and left-hand bass lines. Cam is joined on these nights by the mind-bending bluesy sleeper-cell, Matt Schad, tearin’ it down on guitar, and the incredible, understated weaver of groove tapestries, Christian Fox, on drums.
